Tammy Prather

My name is Tammy Prather.  I am 43 years old and grew up in Ottawa IL.  I’ve had a busy career with AT&T for the last 15 years and am currently a Project Manager for our 2 state market.

I was always active growing up, participating in dance and track in high school then later developing a love for weight lifting.  I enjoyed fitness so much and wanted to give something back and make a difference in others lives, so I pursued my ISSA personal training certification at the age of 39.  This was where I first met my coach – Staci Boyer.  I remember listening to her speak to the class at our seminar, thinking…wow what incredible energy and motivation!  I reached out to Staci to talk about training and ended up being her client as well.  I competed for my first figure shows in 2010 at the age of 42, placing as high as 3rd in one of my shows.  In 2011, after taking some time off to relocate to the Northwest suburbs, I decided to change my division to bikini and take the stage yet again.

I am positive with TEAM F.A.B and coaches Staci & Sandy my future adventures will be amazing and I am so excited to compete with this wonderful group of strong, focused and determined women! My goal is to keep this dream alive for many years to come.

All this aside, my proudest accomplishment is being a mom to 2 wonderful daughters – Shaley and Emily.  I am actually pursuing my black belt in Karate right now with my youngest Emily!  I enjoy teaching them all I know about fitness and nutrition in the hopes that some of it will actually stick!  I want them to know they can reach for their dreams no matter the obstacles that stand in their way and encourage them to never let anything hold them back!
